    SERIOUSLY, WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Everything looks kinda the same, what is “good”, but the characters changed?!
Cutter Slade is now white (and “hot” lolwut)?
    The Talan have human faces?
    WHAT THE HELL!!!
    Just… why?

Hi Panino Manino! Thanks for your message.
Yeah a lot has changed compared to the original game. First the technology; nowadays, more and more is possible with current day tech so things always looks different from what is familiar to us from the original game. Also because you blend in old tech with new tech, sometimes there are restrictions what you can and can’t do. It is correct that the Talans faces have received more (bone)structure and shape. Cutter Slade has been changed a bid (read: younger) to attract a broader audience like teenage gamers. Please note that the game is still work in progress at this point so things can change over time.

  3. I loved the trailer. Now a quick question. Since Cutter has been changed completely (and the redesign is slowly growing on me) does that mean Marion Wolfe, Anthony Xue and William Kauffmann have also been changed drastically in their appearance or do they still look similar to their original incarnations?

Hi Paul! Nice of you to join the conversation.
Every character in Outcast: Second Contact will be upgraded/updated so that also goes for Marion Wolfe, Anthony Xue and William Kauffmann. How they will look however will of course still remain a secret for future videos and promotions. There are various reasons why characters looks different and some of the reasons are more obvious than others.

For example: If we graphically updated the entire world of Adelpha but leave the characters exactly the same as the original, that just wouldn’t be right, it wouldn’t fit. So the characters needed to have a graphical update. An other reason is that the original game came out so many years ago that a lot of (new) gamers haven’t heard of it. We need to appeal to those gamers (besides the fans from the original game) which are usually teenagers. That’s why we needed to make Cutter look a little bit younger. Next to that, because of the improvements in technology nowadays we can add muscle and bone-structure which was absent in the original game. That is also a reason why characters will look different.

Of course, the game is still in development so things can still be changed over time; it is still a work in progress. In the coming months we will release more footage and screenshots until the release of Outcast: Second Contact.
